Star Trek Fan Trek
I really have to give these
guy an A+ for effort! They've done an incredible job as fan
production in taking us back to the old Trek and giving us something
new. A must see!

Online is a great web comic by Eric W. Schwartz that I discovered
a while back! This is comic for an older audience, and to borrow
Eric words (and graphic):
those with
hyper-sensitive dispositions or little children should be warned that
this comic strip may occasionally contain words, ideas, images, and
other subject matter (what's left?) that may be considered
objectionable to some. There shouldn't be anything here that you won't
find on television, (sans cable) but if you are the type who thinks
Bugs Bunny really needs to wear pants, consider yourself warned, and
don't view any of the comic strips.

Star Toy's has come out with a very cool die cast 1:18 Scale - 9.5
inch model of the Back
to the Future Delorian! This model features: a brushed
metal body, opening doors and front hood, and wheels that convert to
flight mode. Best part is this isn't a kit! it comes fully finished
and assembled! And the good new it's only around $35.00!
 While
this die cast is a definite improvement over anything that's come out before,
it's not perfect. Like may finished models of this type, there are
details that are a bit off. Like the smaller AMT model kit version,
this model shares the same weak point in the mechanism that allows the
wheels to go from street to flight mode. The mechanism is cheaply
designed and causes the wheels hang very loosely in both modes... so
they neither roll smoothly when up nor hang perfectly when down. I've modified the old AMT model kit to fix this problem, and
I imagine a comparable modification is possible with this model... the bottom
is secured with at least 6 screws but there something else holding it
together that I couldn't find and I didn't feel like forcing it :)
One other note: when you get the thing, it's secured to a plastic base
by 4 screws which can be remove so the model can be displayed differently.
All that
being said, I still recommend this model for fans of the BTTF
Delorian! It's still the best version yet! Monsters
in Motion is offering this die
cast Model for $37.99 While I don't endorse one seller
over another, I've recently purchased this item from them and received
it well packed and in a timely manor.
